On Saturday 7 November, we held the 2015 ACF National Festival. Fr Peter Bradley, Dean of Sheffield, gave the day’s keynote address, (an audio file of the address is available to listen to below, and a written transcript will follow shortly). His address lent the title to the theme of the Festival: ‘Reform or Restore? A new vision for the Church’. The Celebrant at the Solemn Mass was the former bishop of Gloucester, Fr Michael Perham, the assistant priest was Fr Jeremy Davies and the Deacon of the Mass was the Revd Vienna Francis-Mullins. The devotional address was written and due to be given by Mthr Jenn Strawbridge, Chaplain & Fellow at Keble College, Oxford. However, ill health prevented her from being present, and so her address was delivered by Fr Peter Groves. The afternoon involved discussion in small groups which explored current challenges for the Catholic movement and our possible responses. These responses will be collated and fed back in due course to all. We finished with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament at which the officiant was Fr Alan Moses.
The content of Fr Peter’s address and Mthr Strawbridge’s sermon do not necessarily reflect the official opinion of the trustees and executive of Anglican Catholic Future.
